Who we are . . .
Alpharetta Christian Academy is a Christ centered and family oriented ministry dedicated to developing and transforming students for a lifetime of learning, loving, leading, achieving, and serving. We train our students to become outstanding citizens and Christian leaders in their communities.
ACA offers a phonics rich reading program in which children learn to sound out the words, rather than learning sight words. Shurley English results in early mastering of grammar rules and their applications. First graders learn cursive writing and continue developing the skill in later years. Math is taught in a spiral approach so that students fully learn math facts and concepts before moving on. Beginning in kindergarten, students are taught the additional classes of Spanish, P.E., media, computer, art, music, and character development.
ACA students learn to serve others and be a part of the community. Each grade completes an age-appropriate service project. Projects in the past have included collecting supplies for Canine Assistants and making bracelets for cancer patients through the organization Feel Beautiful Today.
Character and Friendship
ACA students participate in a weekly class on character development. They learn the Biblical basis for attributes such as courage, hope, kindness, respect, and citizenship. As a result, students show kindness to each other and to their teachers. Students are expected to respect each other, to obey their teachers, and to learn accountability for their actions.
